The 3.2.0 PTR ran from 4 to 11 August 2026. Players could test most season 15 changes early and send feedback.

Mano Imp’s 4 August video lays out what was in scope and, more usefully, what was not.

What the PTR covered, and what it did not

  • Testable: the new nightmare dungeons, ambush events appearing on the map, and most mechanic values.
  • Not testable: Blizzard said clearly that the PTR would not show all of season 15, keeping the rest for BlizzCon 2026.

In hindsight, what was held back was the return of 20 bosses from past games, the three Prime Evil dungeons, and Deckard Cain’s questline.

What player feedback changed

The clearest example is Iconic Mythics:

  • During the PTR, Blizzard tried demoting them to ordinary legendary quality, reasoning that more players should reach the key stats earlier.
  • Players argued that this diluted what makes Mythic Uniques distinct.
  • The live version kept Mythic quality and restored the Blacksmith cache that only rolls Iconic Mythics. Blizzard documented the reversal in its season notes.

That is the point of a PTR: values and loot rules really do change before launch.

The creator’s take

Mano Imp reads the changes as making systems more practical and easier to approach, and compares the direction to Diablo III’s later evolution.

He stresses this is not a criticism but Diablo IV finding its own position. It is one creator’s view; whether season 15 proves it is something you can judge against the season notes.

Where viewers disagreed

The two most liked comments argue past each other:

  • “Every season they change everything and it ends up the same, no identity of its own, importing whatever worked in D3.”
  • “If you do not like it, do not play. A company the size of Blizzard should not need a PTR at all.”

Both are really about the same thing: how often the season systems get rewritten.
